Home boner alert! I’ve only been to Mexico once, I know its sad, so this doesn’t necessarily make me exactly a purveyor of Mexican style, however, I do live in Southern California AAAND I feel like our week spent in Tulum was a full emersion of Mexican Modhemian bliss, enough so to understand what’s completely, gutturally rad. There is one thing I do know for sure, the Equipale chair is a special kinda creation, sent by the decor gods to make our homes impeccably, effortlessly sheik.

It doesn’t get more vintage, exotic, culturally rich, rustic, organic, bohemian than this. The sun beaten leather, splintery hand carved wood, hand stitched seams, great bucket seat to cradle the hiney, its all a gal like me could ever ask for. So feast your eyes at some of the ways the beautiful people of the interweb design world have styled this fabulous god given creation. P.S. you can find these on eBay for under $500 or if you are lucky enough to stumble upon one at a flea market or antique shop for peanuts, DO NOT PASS IT UP!

Here are a few shots from our breathtaking Tulum vacation April 2014. Need to go back! Thanks Papaya Playa!

KAITRINS STYLING

TIPS

#1

Before you even bring anything into a space, nail down the feeling and function you want to convey with said space. Build off that feeling through color, texture, pattern, form and funk.

#2

Make sure to designate and define each living area, no matter the square footage. Create conversation, reading, lounging and eating areas that will naturally lure people to the appropriate space by the power of furniture layout, lighting and styling.

#3

Dont forget to add touches of YOU throughout. Its your home, not a catalogue, showroom or photoshoot, so personalize with accessories, art and lighting that speaks to you and works in your day to day life.
